Below is a concise summary of how Lexlife Solutions worked with the PaperCut business to evolve their sale and technology enablement learning process and resources.
Company Introduction:
PaperCut is an Australian-founded software company specialising in print management solutions that reduce waste, improve security, and simplify printing processes for organisations of all sizes.
With offices in the USA, Australia, and the UK, PaperCut’s software is trusted by education, healthcare, government, and corporate sectors, reaching more than 139 million users across 195 countries.

PaperCut is considered a world leader in print management software and solutions.
PaperCut Situation - Pain Points:
As PaperCut’s product line expanded, the need for structured certification courses grew—particularly to support sales and technical enablement for their global partners.
They engaged two internal instructional designers to build certification programs, but the approach led to challenges:
- Courses were built from PowerPoint presentations converted into videos, some totalling 15 hours in length.
- Learners could skip through videos or ignore them entirely, completing only the quiz to receive certification.
- Many participants rushed through content at the last possible moment to earn a certificate, rather than to gain knowledge.
- Each new product release added more material, making courses longer and harder to manage.
The result was an inefficient, low-engagement learning experience that didn’t meet PaperCut’s goals for partner enablement and certification needs, which is a legislative requirement.
The Solution:
PaperCut engaged Lexlife Solutions to transform their certification programs into a scalable learning experience that impacted those who engaged with it.
The Lexlife team activated four steps…
Step 1 - Training Needs Analysis
Lexlife conducted a full review of existing courses and learner behaviours. By experiencing the current modules firsthand, our team identified where learners were disengaging and why.
The Lexlife team quickly became familiar with the Papercut software and the employees’ learning needs.
Step 2 - Designing Best-Practice Learning Experiences
Lexlife redesigned the courses using targeted, interactive eLearning strategies. Lexlife worked with Papercut to produce a core set of business needs…
- Focus on essential knowledge and remove unnecessary content.
- Build mastery through active engagement.
- Ensure compliance was met to produce legitimate certifications.
- Leverage eLearning best practices.
Step 3 - Launch / Go Live & Support
Lexlife’s internal technical team built the new eLearning course design to specification.
Once the new system was built and approved, Lexlife collaborated with the PaperCut education team for the rollout, providing live support for the integration to their learning management system.
Step 4 - Ongoing Support and Future-Proofing
Lexlife equipped PaperCut’s internal team with all development files and training to manage future updates independently.
However, when internal resources caused delays (some updates taking up to nine months), Lexlife stepped in to complete revisions within a one-week turnaround.
The Results:
PaperCut was given a more effective and efficient eLearning certification system with the following tangible results…
- 95% reduction in learner time per certification course (from ~15 hours to ~1 hour).
- 82% learner satisfaction rating, significantly improving partner engagement.
- Development completed 97% faster than internal teams, saving approximately $95k annually (reduction of internal production costs).
- Certification programs are now sustainable, scalable, and better aligned with PaperCut’s global partner enablement strategy.
- Learners can no longer bypass material; they must engage with each module to progress thus dramatically improving the quality of their certification strategy.
