Build what your people actually need
Before you commission a single course, it’s worth asking: is training even the right answer? And if it is, which training, for whom, and in what order? A Lexlife training needs analysis gives you the clarity to invest confidently — and avoid the courses nobody uses.
Sound familiar?
“We have courses but I’m not sure they’re actually changing behaviour on the floor.”
“We’ve built a lot of content over the years and I’m not confident it reflects how we work now.”
“Leadership wants an eLearning solution but we haven’t identified what the real problem is yet.”
“Our compliance training gets completed but I’m not sure it’s landing the way it should.”
What a TNA involves
Scoping session
We start with a focused conversation to understand your organisation, your current training landscape, and the business outcomes you’re trying to influence. This shapes the scope and focus of the full analysis.
1–2 hours, remote or on-site
Stakeholder interviews
We speak with the people who know the real picture — managers, team leads, frontline staff, and HR or L&D contacts. We’re looking for the gap between what’s expected and what’s actually happening.
Typically 4–8 interviews
Content & data review
We review existing training material, completion data, performance metrics, and any relevant policies or procedures — looking for gaps, duplication, and content that no longer reflects how your organisation operates.
Conducted independently
Analysis & prioritisation
We identify which gaps training can genuinely close, distinguish these from issues better addressed through process or management change, and prioritise recommendations by impact and urgency.
Internal Lexlife work
Report & presentation
You receive a clear written report with findings and prioritised recommendations, followed by a presentation session where we walk through it with your team and answer questions.
Delivered within agreed timeframe
What you get at the end
Written TNA report
A thorough document capturing findings, identified gaps, and the reasoning behind each recommendation.
Prioritised recommendations
A clear action list — what to build, what to update, what to retire, and what should be addressed outside of training.
Audience mapping
A breakdown of which roles need which learning, so nothing gets built for the wrong audience.
Presentation & debrief
A walkthrough session with your team so findings are understood, questions are answered, and next steps are agreed.
One thing a TNA often reveals: not everything that looks like a training problem is one. A Lexlife TNA will tell you honestly when the issue sits in process, management, or resourcing — saving you from building courses that can’t fix what’s actually broken.
Cross-industry experience matters. Our background spans healthcare, technology, education, retail, mining and property management — the sectors where training landscapes are most complex and an outside perspective makes the biggest difference.
